Biography of Pixie Lott

Pixie Lott Lott's follow-up single "Boys and Girls", also topped the UK charts in September 2009. Her debut album Turn It Up was released in September 2009 and reached number six in the UK Albums Chart and has since been certified platinum.

1991–2009: Early life and beginnings

Lott was born in Bromley, south east London. She lives in Brentwood, Essex with her father, who is a stock broker, and her mother, a housewife; she has an older brother and sister.
After she started singing in her church school, At the age of
fourteen she was part of the chorus line, recording vocals on Roger Waters's opera Ça Ira.
On 15 August 2009, Pixie was featured alongside Hoobastank, The All-American Rejects, Kasabian, Cobra Starship, Dizzee Rascal, Boys Like Girls, Estranged and Raygun as one of the live acts at Asia's very first MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia concert that was held in Malaysia.
Pixie's second lead single "[Boys and Girls" was released on 6 September 2009 and topped the UK Singles Chart on 13 September 2009.
On 14 September 2009, Pixie's debut album, Turn It Up was released. The album debuted at number six on the UK Album Chart. The album has so far sold over 400,000 copies in the United Kingdom and was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry in January 2010. Over 800,000 of her singles have been sold in the UK.
Pixie signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing in December 2007. Pixie has written a song for Alexandra Burke's debut album, Overcome, titled "You Broke My Heart" and a song for Girls Can't Catch titled "Happy Alone", which was feautured as a free Christmas present download on their website. She also has written two tracks on Lisa Hordijk – the Dutch X Factor's winners album, they are titled "No Good For Me" (1st single off of album) and "Promises, Promises".
Pixie's third single from the album was confirmed as "Cry Me Out" upon the release of the previous single and the single was later confirmed for physical release on 23 November 2009.
The fourth single Gravity will be released in the UK on March 8th 2010 and the video premiered on Channel 4 on 6th February .
Pixie won two MTV EMA Awards MTV Europe Music Awards 2009, Best UK & Ireland Act and Best Push Artist (best break through artist)
Pixie won a Cosmopolitan 2009 Ultimate Women Award for "Ultimate Newcomer".
Pixie won "Best Newcomer Caron Keating Award 2009" at The Variety Club Awards.
"The Way The World Works", from Lott's debut record was used in the U.S.-produced medical drama "Private Practice".
Pixie was chosen as the face of Nokia's "Illuvial Pink Collection" mobile phone range, saying "I spend loads of time on my mobile, so it's important to me that it looks good. The phones in the range all look fab – they're stylish and yet still girlie".
Pixie is one of the lead roles in a movie called - she plays Judy, Fred's love interest. Fred is played by Lucas Cruikshank This is due out summer 2010, first in the USA.
Lott was nominated for 3 Brit Awards at the 2010 Brit Awards.
It has been confirmed that Pixie will be the opening act of Rihanna's Rated R Tour in the UK from the 7th to 26th May 2010. Pixie will also be on the main stage at the V Festival in Aug 2010.
