Abigail Clancy

Abigail Clancy, also known as Abi Clancy or Abbey Clancy, is an English Lingerie and glamour model who made headlines during the 2006 FIFA World Cup as the girlfriend of England football star Peter Crouch.

Biography

Born on 10 January 1986 in Liverpool, Clancy was member of girlband Genie Queen, who were managed by 80s popstar Andy McCluskey from OMD. The highlight of their career was supporting boyband Blue on tour. However, the band didn’t secure a record deal and fell apart.
She supports Southport FC, mainly because her brother Sean, plays for the Conference National team.
In 2006 she appeared as a contestant on Living TV's Britain's Next Top Model and came second, despite being favoured to win.

Since BNTM

Since appearing on the show Abigail has modelled for Maxim magazine (December 2006), Nuts magazine (November 2006), OK! magazine, GQ magazine (August 2006), The Sun newspaper, the Daily Star newspaper, Sugar magazine and is the new face and body of Pussy Glamore’s winter lingerie collection alongside Elizabeth Jagger in photos shot by Bryan Adams.
Clancy has also featured on the front cover of FHM magazine and was voted sexiest WAG in a readers poll. She has walked for Debenham House ,top Liverpool style store Cricket and In The Pink (October 2006).
Clancy has also appeared as a talking head in the documentaries Slave To Fashion and The Ultimate Bikini Guide for Channel 4.
Clancy has recently filmed a "fly on the wall" series for Living TV in Los Angeles called Abbey and Janice: Beauty and the Best which follows her attempts to crack the LA modelling scene, guided by Janice Dickinson who acts as her mentor. The six part series commenced weekly from 14th May 2007.
She has recently walked for Christian Audigier and Ed Hardy during LA Fashion week 2007.
In May 2007, Clancy appeared on the front cover of Arena magazine and she was also ranked 37th in the FHM 100 Sexiest poll of 2007.

Relationship with Peter Crouch

Abigail began dating Crouch in January 2006 after they met at a Liverpool bar. Around the time she met Crouch it has been reported that Abi told the producers of BNTM that she was a WAG wannabe who wanted to "marry a footballer, get pregnant and then shop and have fun for the rest of her life". Clancy came to public attention as Crouch's girlfriend when she watched him score a hat-trick during a pre-World Cup clash with Jamaica. Days later she jetted out to Germany with the rest of the WAGs. Barely halfway through the tournament allegations and photographs emerged of her alleged Drug fuelled past. Crouch, with pressure from his parents, quietly suggested Abigail went back to Britain. After the tournament was over, Crouch sent a legal note to newspapers, insisting he was no longer with Abi, but she maintained they were still on. A short time later sightings and pictures of the couple dining together surfaced supporting Abigail's claims that the two were indeed a couple, and still are.
